Here are 5 key steps to set up your social media as an artist?

1. Who do you want to reach?

Create a facebook page and target the interest group that are most relevant to your genre of music. You must be able to describe your music/ art / songwriting, and categorise it in your "About You" page in order to reach the people who are looking for that kind of art.

2. Where is your audience?

Sometimes your friends and followers are not only from your neighbourhood. Monitor your Social Media Analytics closely in order to plan for your next gig. This will help you to make sure that you will have a lot of people on your concert the next time.

3. Where to promote your music?

In order to set up your social media profile as an artist you must ensure to leverage all possible channels and interlink them all. For musicians it is important to have uploaded their music on some streaming platform, whether it be Spotify or Soundcloud or Bandpage. A presence of one of this kind has to be established!

4. How to promote your music online?

Once you have uploaded your music online and you have set up your online presence as an artist! Make sure to make use of this presence. Showcase what you have and publish a few of your best tracks.

5. How to grow your audience for a concert?

Make sure that you are creating an event on Facebook a minimum of 3 weeks before it happens. Creating a teaser, a countdown etc are great tactics to get your crowd excited for what is about to happen.
